Apple Changes Stance On Water Damage Policy

tekgoblin writes "It appears Apple has changed its stance on whether an iOS device is actually water damaged. If you remember when the 13-year-old girl sued Apple in December, it was because her iPhone's moisture sensors had gone off and Apple voided her warranty. Those sensors have also been triggered by simply exposing the phone to low temperatures. Now Apple says that if the moisture sensors are red but the customer disputes and says no liquid has come into contact with the device, the warranty may still apply."

Apple Ask the US Government to Stop Jailbreaking Their iPhones

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Apple isn’t happy that the US government have been jailbreaking this iPhones.

A spokesperson from Apple told the US Copyright Office that “Current jailbreak technologies now in widespread use utilize unauthorized modifications to the copyrighted bootloader and operating system, resulting in the infringement of the copyrights in those programs”.

In July of last year, the United States government ruled in the favor of iPhone jailbreaks and unlocks as legal, as long as they were not used for piracy purposes. It will be interesting to see if the government take on board Apple’s request.
